Our Editors

editorsThe quality of our editors sets us apart from our serious competitors. Our team are the most important part of our operation and directly affect the quality of your work and the reputation of our business.

We therefore have a stringent application process. If you are going to trust us with your work, we have an obligation to ensure that it is looked after by only the most qualified and most meticulous experts.

Our Academic Proofreaders must have graduated from a University in the Russell Group (The Top 20 UK Universities), and must also have passed our own rigorous proofreading and editing test paper. Only using Russell Group editors allows us to choose the best-qualified academics across all subject areas. We insist on a Masters as a minimum qualification, with the vast majority of our editors holding a PhD. Wherever possible, we will do our best to  assign your work to the most qualified specialist in your academic field, regardless of your level of study.

Once your editor returns your completed edit, it is subjected to a final scrutiny by our senior editor to ensure that any small errors that might have been missed are identified and rectified before being sent back to you. All work is returned to customers in two copies: one clean final version and a second copy with Microsoft™ Track Changes, enabling you to see at a glance the work we have done for you.

This ensures that you receive the best possible return for your years of hard work. After all, at this stage of your academic career why settle for anything less?

Our Business and Public Sector Proofreaders are all industry experts. To become a Proofreading.co.uk commercial proofreader, experts must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the private or public sector. They will have demonstrated a keen eye for detail and an understanding of the importance of image and of getting it right first time. While a Russell Group qualification is not required of our commercial editors, a thorough understanding of the English language at all levels is. Your editor has to be able to follow individual style guides when supplied by our clients, ensuring that we deliver on time and to the level expected.

We understand that our editors often work on sensitive material, which is why each one has to sign a legally binding Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before their application can be successful. We can also sign a specific NDA at your behest if so required.

Having worked with businesses of all sizes from household names to SMEs, and from government departments to local councils, we believe that there is no task we can't handle, big or small. Regardless of size, each individual proofread receives the highest levels of care, expertise, and attention.
